What is Explainable AI?

How is Explainable AI approached?

For example, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has launched a research program to develop XAI methods and technologies. Additionally, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) includes provisions that require organizations to provide explanations for decisions made by AI systems.
In addition, several XAI techniques and methods such as interpretable machine learning, have been proposed. Which focuses on developing models that are easy for humans to understand, and counterfactual explanations, which provide explanations for AI systems’ decisions by showing how changing input variables would have changed the output.
